Slow down and take a deep breath. Do you mean it will turn over but not crank? What is you comfort level working on the unit?

Open the air cleaner and check the choke operation. it should be closed before cranking. That is where I would start. I assume the gas valve is open.

Yes, that way you can see if the choke plate is moving. For me a quick test would be to see if the choke plate is moving. If that is OK then I would hit it with a shot of starter fluid. If you don't have that you can use WD-40. Give the carburetor one or two quick shots and try to start it in manual. If it fires and runs for a short period of time you have a gas issue.
Please give more info. Age of unit, LP or Nat. gas

operating fine. stuck fingers in carburator ports and there is suction and smell
of fuel.

Folks, I've been on contact with Mike. His unit is natural gas powered. If y'all can help, you can email him via the forum to get info to him faster than just a reply here.

Here's a message I got from Mike via email:

Skip,

Thanks to you and everyone on the forum for trying to help me and my family with troubleshooting my generator.

Unfortunately, it still did not start and time was really against us because the weather really downgraded faster than we
expected. The weather here in Va. Beach is getting really bad as we speak. Me and wife and newborn will do what we can to get through storm.

Thanks Skip and everyone on the forum that replied and concern.

I do want to get this generator running ASAP after we ride out the hurricane.

Warmest Regards,
Mike
