Generac has posted a superb diagnostic repair manual for the following generator "models":

6KW NG, 7KW LP
9KW NG, 10KW LP
13KW NG, 13KW LP
15KW NG, 16KW LP
16KW NG, 18KW LP

The manual is part number 0G4338, Rev. C, dated 06/08.

There is a wealth of information in this manual. It has schematics for each stage of both the transfer switch and DC control within the generator with power flows highlighted in color so that you can fully understand the operation of each system. Each pin of the large connector to the controller board is fully defined - something that is missing from the owner's manual.

To download the manual, click on this link to the Guardian web site (http://www.guardiangenerators.com/PublicPDFs/0g4338revC.pdf).

Mike_Y brought this manual to my attention, and it has really helped me acquire the knowledge about my 5416 that I needed.

Here is the download for the newer models of air cooled generators invluding the following models:

7 kW NG, 8 kW LP
9 kW NG, 10 kW LP
13 kW NG, 14 kW LP
16 kW NG, 17 kW LP
18 kW NG, 20 kW LP

I notice that these manuals do not have any engine servicing information. I found this full service manual for the GTH760/990 and GTV760/990 engines

http://www.guardiangenerators.com/PublicPDFs/0F6923.pdf

I wonder, is there is also a full service manual for the newer GH-990 HSB engine that I have in my new 14 kw generator?

Hi Skip!

OldDad27 here. How do I get into that website? They ask for an e-mail address & password. Is there a registration procedure for that? Let me know what is required.

Thanks,
OldDad27

OldDad27It seems that some time ago Generac locked up that site to (apparently) dealers only.

If you want to buy hard-copy Diagnostic Repair Manuals for Generac generators, Call Ziller Electric (at the number which is at the top of forum pages).
